Series – Marie Antoinette – Filming
The project
For the filming of season 2 of the Franco-British series Marie-Antoinette, airing on Canal+, the production relied on our services to recreate the atmosphere of the 18th century.
Two locations were selected: a manor and a castle, chosen for their volumes, authenticity, and flexibility, allowing the set designers to fully reinterpret the spaces.
The Places
The Manor
This 19th-century manor, completely empty and in its original state, offers 1,200 m² of interior space. Its double-columned living room, wooden staircase under a glass rotunda, and patinated bedrooms allowed the team to freely recreate sets faithful to the period.
Surrounded by a wild 5-hectare park with moats, the location provides an isolated environment ideal for historical filming.
The Castle
This 18th-century castle, with stone facades and turrets, was chosen for its visual impact and spectacular reception rooms, including a baroque ballroom with exquisite woodwork.
The grand hall with circular staircase and its elegant volumes served as the backdrop for the series’ most iconic scenes.
